This helmet echoes that design, possessing a raised peak, which gives it a shape similar to a sugar loaf (from whence the helm draws its name). This rounded, peaked top isn’t just decorative, though, as the shape helps protect against direct blows to the head, helping to shift force and impact down the sides of the helmet, instead of letting it fall directly on the top. The helmet features two thin, rectangular eyelets which allow the wearer to see out, while also featuring several small holes along the front, which help to ventilate the helmet, aiding in airflow which not only helps keep the wearer cool, but also makes it easier for them to breathe.
